Gentle Healing for Military Sexual Trauma

What Is Military Sexual Trauma?

Military sexual trauma also referred to as MST, is a term used by the Department of veterans Affairs to refer to "psychological trauma, which in the judgment of a VA mental health professional, resulted, from a physical assault of a sexual nature, battery of a sexual nature, or sexual harassment which occurred while the Veteran was serving on active duty or active duty for training".

According to the Department of Veteran's Affairs, approximately one in five women and one in 100 men have shared with their VA health care provider that they were a victim of sexual trauma while in the military.  You are sadly not alone; however, there are many military and civilian resources available to help you pursue treatment and justice for your assault.
